As we prepare for the launch of our first campus in Victoria, we're seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Head of Learning .
As the Head of Learning, you will lead and develop a team of teachers, while overseeing and initiating key growth projects to expand our reach.
You will play a critical role in spearheading the successful launch of new initiatives, blending strategic leadership with a focus on measurable outcomes.
This role is based full time at our Box Hill campus.
What you'll do… Lead the overall management and strategic direction of the Victorian academic unit staff, including recruitment, onboarding, deployment, and performance management to foster a high-performing team.
Develop, finalise, and oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of curriculum proposals, courses, and events, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and measurable outcomes.
Strategically manage the academic timetable to optimise class openings and operations, meeting demand, maximising classroom efficiencies, and achieving growth and enrolment targets.
Conduct academic consultations with parents and students to provide tailored advice and solutions for their learning needs and academic goals, driving enrolment conversions and retention.
Deliver weekly classroom teaching at the Matrix Box Hill campus, (up to 6 hours per week), maintaining strong engagement with students and curriculum delivery.
Deliver reports and updates to the CEO, and the Board of Matrix Education.
Implement and oversee classroom efficiency strategies, and develop robust retention strategies to enhance the student experience between terms.
Manage budgets and resources effectively within the area of responsibility, including the strategic allocation of workloads to teachers and tutors and oversight of resource development.
Develop and execute growth and outreach strategies to build relationships with the local community, schools, universities, and educational bodies, driving measurable expansion and enhancing Matrix Education's reputation.
Lead and manage strategic planning and execution efforts across projects and initiatives, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and aligned with organisational priorities.
Drive a culture of accountability and excellence by setting and achieving measurable deliverables for all growth, operational, and academic initiatives.
Represent, build relationships and uphold the reputation of Matrix Education within the local community, schools, universities and educational bodies through the formulation and execution of growth and outreach opportunities.
What you'll need… A minimum Bachelor degree qualification in Education, Management or a related discipline.
Minimum of three years experience teaching a secondary subject (from English, Mathematics or Science) in a classroom setting.
Demonstrated experience in management of educational course design and staff.
Thorough understanding of student learning styles and effective methods of lesson delivery.
Knowledge of best practice in engaging secondary students.
Good knowledge of the current Victorian curriculum for year 7 to 12 in English, Mathematics and Science learning areas.
