Senior Communications & Engagement Officer Location – Parramatta Employment type – Temporary Full-Time up to 12 months with possibility of extension and made ongoing. Salary – ($120,859 pa - $133,183 pa), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading Your role The Senior Communications and Engagement Officer will be responsible for leading the daily development of clear, engaging, effective, and accessible communications for the NSW Anti-slavery Commissioner (Commissioner).
The Commissioner:
monitors the effectiveness of legislation and policies to combat and address modern slavery;identifies and provides assistance and support to victims of modern slavery;makes recommendations and provides information, advice, education, and training to prevent and provide remedy for instances of modern slavery;raises community awareness of modern slavery;monitors reporting concerning risks of modern slavery in public procurement; andcollaborates with business, civil society, and the research sector.What you'll do In this role, you will develop the Commissioner's communications across a variety of formats, including social and traditional media, internal communications, and sector and stakeholder engagements, including with people with lived experience.
You will also be responsible for collaborating with key stakeholders to develop specific projects.
To excel in this role, you must have exceptional writing, editing, and publishing skills, attention to detail, and sensitivity to people who have experienced modern slavery and related subject matter.
You should also have a proven ability to prioritize and execute deliverables to a high standard.
What we're looking for The ideal candidate will have proven writing and publishing experience and demonstrated experience of working with people with lived experience.
In addition to the requirements, you'll demonstrate:
Substantial experience in management of complex communications and stakeholder engagement initiatives and projectsTertiary qualifications in marketing/communications and/or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional developmentProven experience in developing and implementing successful communication and engagement strategiesAbility to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholdersKnowledge of social media and digital marketing trendsDownload the role description
