The team provides specialist services for young people, children and families, adults, and older people.
Community mental health services include a specialist Aboriginal Mental Health Team, bilingual mental health workers, and Peer Support Workers.
Our main sites are at Canterbury, Croydon, Camperdown, Marrickville, and Redfern Community Health Services.
The role will be based at Canterbury.
The Community Adolescent Outreach Service model of care states:The CAOS outpatient program provides specialist multidisciplinary assessment and integrated treatment to young people between 12-18 years of age thought to have mental problems.The service particularly focuses on the assessment and management of young people 12-18 years of age who are enrolled in the secondary education system and are:
difficult to engage.more in out-of-home care.Indigenous population of Inner West.living in families struggling to meet the requirements of structured mental health service.those who have presented to the emergency department or with suicidality.referred via Mental Health Telephone Access Line.The Mental Health Nurse will practice in keeping with the standardised Sydney LHD position description for the profession in addition to this position description.Child protection is the core responsibility of all who work in the child and adolescent mental health service.
All staff are required to have detailed knowledge of and comply with policies and procedures relating to Child Protection and the NSW Health Code of Conduct.
All clinicians are responsible for ensuring that identified issues are documented, escalated, and action occurs as appropriate.
