Position Overview: The Business Operations Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of daily operations, project management, and sales processes.
This hands-on leadership position involves supervising teams, managing supplies and equipment, scheduling staff, and ensuring seamless project delivery.
Additionally, the role includes overseeing the sales process to identify opportunities, drive revenue growth, and support business objectives.
A strong focus on reporting key metrics to senior management is essential to success.
Key Responsibilities: Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day business operations, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
Manage the allocation of resources, including equipment, supplies, and personnel, to support efficient operations.
Develop and maintain schedules for staff and projects to ensure timely delivery.
Project Supervision: Monitor and supervise projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or delays in project execution.
Ensure all operational activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
Oversee the sales process, from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Identify new sales opportunities, build client relationships, and support key account management.
Collaborate with the sales team (if applicable) to develop strategies, set targets, and track performance.
Ensure accurate sales reporting and provide insights on pipeline progress to management.
Lead, mentor, and supervise operational and project teams, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
Conduct regular team meetings to communicate objectives, track progress, and address any challenges.
Ensure staff are equipped with the necessary tools and training to perform their roles effectively.
Reporting & Analysis: Provide accurate and timely reports to management on project progress, resource utilisation, sales performance, and operational outcomes.
Analyse data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential risks.
Collaborate with senior management to develop strategies for operational and sales optimisation.
Resource Coordination: Manage the procurement and maintenance of equipment and supplies to ensure operational continuity.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to maintain efficient and cost-effective inventory levels.
Ensure all resources are deployed effectively to meet project, operational, and sales demands.
Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience in operations, project management, and sales, preferably within construction, environmental solutions, or related industries.
Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with a hands-on approach.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, teams, and suppliers.
A commitment to upholding safety, quality, and sustainability standards.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): On-time and on-budget project delivery.
Efficiency in resource allocation and utilisation.
Sales pipeline growth and revenue generation.
Accuracy and timeliness of management reports.
Compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Team satisfaction and productivity.
Reporting Structure: The Business Operations Manager will report directly to senior management and provide regular updates on operational, project, and sales performance.
