The Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) is Canberra's only TAFE and is a premier Vocational Education and Training (VET) institution with approximately 18,000 students a year and approximately 160 courses on scope.
CIT services Canberra through five campuses.
CIT has a new campus being built at Woden which is scheduled to open in mid-2025.
CIT is seeking an experienced leader to be the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) .
The CEO is a critical leadership role, requiring significant experience in building and fostering a high-performance culture and managing a vocational education and training organisation.
The role will work with educators, staff, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality VET is provided to Canberra and the region, ensuring that students remain at the centre of CIT's work.
The role is responsible for working with the CIT Board, ACT Government, and staff to execute the next exciting phase of CIT's strategy and transformation.
This includes improving governance, financial, staff engagement, and procurement systems while promoting financial sustainability and growth.
The CEO will lead CIT educators and staff, promoting a respectful workplace culture that meets the strategic directions set by the CIT Board.
To be successful, you should demonstrate a track record of successfully leading and inspiring educators and staff and developing sustainable, high-quality VET programs and curriculum design that is consistent with community needs.
To be a strong contender for this role, you will excel in complex environments, be forward-thinking, self-motivated, resilient, and adept at building relationships across a broad range of sectors.
