Public Practice - Senior Accountant - Footscray Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing financials of all types, including complex transactions between multiple entities.
This is a unique role, as it may be more accurately defined as 'Client Manager', rather than Senior Accountant.
This means that Business Services Managers / Senior Managers are welcome to apply.
This is a very hands-on, client-facing role which is reflected by the level of remuneration.
The successful candidate will be required to work full time in the Footscray office during a 6-month probationary period.
After probation, 2 days WFH is offered.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Look after client needs and act as point of contact.
Must have strong communication skills.
Ensure accurate and timely bookkeeping and financial reporting.
Reconcile bank accounts and other financial records.
Assist with the preparation of tax returns.
Adhere to accounting standards and regulations.
Work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
Identify and resolve accounting issues.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in Xero and Xero XPM accounting software.
Ability to work independently.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
