Location ProfileYarrabah School is a school for children with moderate to severe disabilities, located in the bayside suburb of Aspendale. The school caters for students from 2.8 to 18 years of age and believes that all students can learn and experience success through tailored education programs.
Learning is delivered in line with the Victorian Curriculum, emphasizing communication, literacy, and numeracy through an explicit instructional approach. Students participate in enrichment programs, including Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Physical Education, Life Skills, Travel Education, Technology, and more.
Yarrabah draws on the REAL (Relationships, Explicitness, Ability, and Learning for Life) framework to guide practice and inform professional learning. The school is committed to child safety and develops behavior support plans to ensure a safe and empowering environment for all students.

Program Benefits - GraduatesThis position may attract an incentive payment of $5,650 (pre-tax) for the successful candidate who meets eligibility criteria. Role - GraduatesThe primary focus of the range 1 classroom teacher is on developing skills to become an effective classroom practitioner with support from experienced teachers, planning, preparing, and teaching programs to achieve student outcomes.
Teachers are accountable for the effective delivery of their programs and may supervise student teachers. They participate in the development of school policies and programs and assist in implementing school priorities.
