What you might not realise is that we also provide support to several government departments including The Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA).
Our role is to support the Department of Veterans' Affairs to meet the Nation's commitment to care for our veterans and Defence service community - the men and women who have served Australia in times of war and conflict as well as peacetime.
As part of Bupa's service offering, Bupa assists the Department of Veterans' Affairs by providing high-quality clinical advice.
We have an opportunity for an ongoing casual to join our team
Need to be able to offer 2-3 days a week on average across a month
About the role
In this unique Pharmacy Adviser role, you will:
Provide an internal point of escalation for pharmaceutical clinical advice.
Assess and process medicinal cannabis funding submissions and RPBS written authority funding applications.
Advise DVA on appropriate clinical treatment within the DVA health entitlements legislation.
Provide specialised clinical, business and policy advice to DVA policy and programs staff.
Provide advice in support of program and provider audit/reviews under an agreed assurance procedural framework.
Respond to queries from DVA business areas regarding health evidence.
Liaise with external providers in relation to requests for services under an agreed procedural framework.
About you
We're looking for Pharmacists keen to move into a role without direct patient contact to work within a multidisciplinary team.
Positions are located in the DVA Brisbane CBD office.
Please note: You must be an Australian citizen and be able to attain and maintain a baseline security clearance from the Defence security and vetting service.
We're looking for someone who has:
Relevant tertiary qualifications.
Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Pharmacist.
At least 5 years current clinical experience.
Strong critical analysis skills.
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both clinical and non-clinical professionals.
Demonstrated sensitivity and judgement in dealing with client related issues.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a productive team member.
