About the role
We are currently seeking a rail safety supervisor to join our Rail Operations team based out of Seven Hills, NSW.
The purpose of this role is to manage the allocation and rostering of safeworking resources, methodologies, rail planning, isolations, scheduling of work trains and midweek train management to enable the teams to deliver works for our clients safely.
Rail Operations is an internal business unit within Laing O'Rourke, specialising in the sole delivery of all aspects of Rail, working with a team of technical experts to deliver a high portfolio of work across Australia.
Key responsibilities

Ensure compliance with Safety Management Systems.
Manage Rail Safety practices and implementation of the Rail Safety Plans, policies and procedures.
Through conduct of onsite activities and targeted reporting, ensure that rail safety risks associated with project works are managed.
Lead & Provide advice on all matters relating to rail safety management and investigating incidents.
Implement and close out actions following an incident or negative observation.
Review safe working arrangements for Protection Officer and LOR work trains throughout the East Coast of Australia.
Conduct regular rail safety compliance inspections and high-risk audits in line with the scope of works utilising appropriate systems and procedure tools.
Understand and interpret RIM requirements and develop training for workers.

About you

Certificate IV OHS and or working towards Diploma OHS, Certificate in Risk management.
Demonstrated 5+ years experience of managing safeworking for worksites and projects within a high-risk rail construction environment.
Experience working with Multiple RIMS and implementing their different requirements.
Experience as a Safe Working Level 1 within Sydney Trains and ARTC Networks.
Experience requesting High Voltage Isolations and arranging the qualified external staff to isolate and issue authorities to work.
Demonstrated experience in managing a pool of workers to achieve business outcomes.
