We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Legal Assistant to join our Asbestos/Dust Diseases practice.
This position is open to candidates of all experience levels, though a minimum of one year in personal injury law is required.

Job tasks and responsibilities
Provide high-level administrative and practice management support to a senior lawyer in the Asbestos/Dust Diseases Team; Deliver excellent service to our clients; Draft court documents, prepare/compile briefs, letters and correspondence; Diary, email and task management; Arrange meetings and appointments; Liaise with clients, law firms, barristers, court staff, insurers, doctors and other third parties; Develop and maintain billing and invoicing systems; General file management and work with the lawyer to advance files and achieve optimal file velocity; Develop, refine and maintain practice management system and processes; Monitor critical dates to ensure deadlines are met; Handle telephone, general enquiries and requests from clients; Maintain data records and generate reports; Open and close files.
Skills and experience
At least 1 year of experience in Personal Injury is essential; Empathetic, confident and personable with a genuine interest in Personal Injury Law; Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; High level of professionalism, exceptional client service skills and ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with appropriate care; Superior organisational and task management skills, ability to manage conflicting priorities and respond to rapidly changing needs of a fast-paced practice; Ability to confidently and professionally communicate with clients, referrers, health professionals, Courts, barristers, lawyers and Government agencies; Technology-savvy and proficient in all Microsoft Office applications; Ability to show initiative; An interest in contributing to the development, maintenance and refining of systems and processes within the practice.
