The Opportunity: This position is responsible for timely and accurate capex reporting and analysis for the Vocus group, with a focus on partnering with the Strategic Investments division and handling merger and acquisition integration reporting.
This includes both financial and operational reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis with a focus on understanding both the P&L and capex impact in the context of the budget/forecast and operations.
This information will be used by the senior leadership team and the board for their understanding and decision-making processes.
The position would be in the first instance assisting the FP&A Manager in capex preparation and reporting, along with process improvements where possible.
In addition to capital reporting and planning, this role will provide business partnering (tactical support) and decision-making support primarily to the Strategic Investments division.
Key Areas: Monthly capital planning and management, both reporting and budgetingMonthly reporting on merger and acquisition integrationBusiness partneringBudgeting and forecasting supportProcess improvementAd-hoc capex analysisThis position will allow the incumbent to immediately collaborate and partner closely with the wider business units including exposure to General Managers/Executives.
This position also paves the pathway for FP&A development and progression onto the wider FP&A/Commercial functions.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: Capital Reporting & PlanningManage timely capex spend reporting including monthly depreciation and amortisation outputDevelop & maintain templates for collection of data from Vocus operating divisionsMonthly Reporting and Analysis:Management reports (BU reports / Management/Board pack and investor presentations)Input of financial outputs into the Vocus consolidation system and management of rolling forecastsInsightful variance reporting and analysis of key business measures compared to budget, prior forecasts, strategic plan, and prior year resultsIdentify and improve financial reporting processes where applicableBusiness Partnering:Provide support to the Strategic Investments division, including monthly P&L reviews; budgeting/forecasting assistance and tactical support when requiredAssist with the provision of commercial inputs, analysis and recommendations into business cases and other business/project opportunitiesBecome the trusted advisor to project teams/PMO managers/senior management on the capex frontWork across the organisation providing key information and advice as requiredProcess Changes and Improvement:Identify issues or opportunities within the role or broader organisation and implement required changesImprove reporting of key financial and operational measures, data extraction, and preparation of consolidated reportsIdentification of process weaknesses and working with team to address and implement appropriate changesSystems:Involvement in the integration of Adaptive Insights consolidation and BI reporting toolsAssist with reporting and planning model developmentsWhat You'll Bring to This Role: CA/CPA qualified with prior experience in a mid-top tier accounting firm (5+ years)Demonstrated commercial experiencePrevious experience working in a financial accounting/fixed assets environment in particular a large, complex environmentHigh attention to detail and accuracyStrong organisational, time and project management skillsAbility to manage multiple stakeholders with competing prioritiesStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAdvanced with MS skills, specifically Excel/PowerPointTelecommunications industry experience advantageousWhat We Offer: Diverse and dynamic teams with a supportive and inclusive culture.Supportive career development plans with comprehensive ongoing training, support, and development opportunities.Flexible hours and a hybrid working environmentGenerous discounts on power, gas, mobile and internet; plus, discounts to over 400 retailers.Competitive leave benefits, including anniversary leave, purchased leave, parental leave, volunteering leave, study leave, and much more.Health and wellness offerings, including access to our wellbeing initiatives that can help you from a financial, psychological, and physical perspective.Working at Vocus is never just a job – it's personal.
