The ROLEWe have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join our Finance team in Bundall on the Gold Coast. Reporting to our Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will work with the broader Finance team and is responsible for providing timely and accurate data that facilitates decision making, ensures compliance and contributes to the overall objectives of the Finance team. This position will suit a qualified Accountant (e.g., CPA, CA or equivalent) or someone close to completing their studies, with a minimum of 3 years in an accounting role within a construction environment or similar. In addition to a calm approach when problem solving, the ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels. This is an office-based role, and the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Providing meaningful and accurate financial analysis, commentary and reportingBalance sheet reconciliationMonth-end processes, reports and financial tracking of performance against budgetCash flow forecastingEOFY activities, including audit and financial statement preparationInsurance claims and renewalsPreparation of BAS and FBT lodgementsEnsure compliance with tax and other legislative requirementsInternal audits and assisting external auditsAbout YOUAn accounting qualification and a working knowledge of Australian accounting standards and management accounting principlesExperience meeting strict deadlines and providing external/internal reportingExperience preparing budgets and reports with a high level of accuracyExperience with managing complex cashflow forecastingPrevious financial statement preparationIdentifying strategic and operational financial issues and opportunitiesUsing complex financial systems such as Great Plains and Microsoft ExcelWhat we offer YOUThere is nothing more important at Hazell Bros than having our workforce return home in a fit and healthy state at the end of every working day.
