About the Role
AGL is seeking a Senior Commercial Risk Analyst to join our Trading, Treasury, and Risk (TTR) team to support the risk management processes of our Integrated Energy Markets and Treasury activities.
Reporting to the Commercial Risk Lead, you will play a critical role in validating contracts and managing system processes that support AGL's energy trading and treasury functions.
What you'll be doing
Validate and confirm contracts/confirmations accurately and on time in trading systems, ensuring adherence to policy requirements.
Preparing confirmations and contracts in line with ISDA (International Swaps and Derivatives Association) and AFMA (Australian Financial Markets Association) standards.
Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders (commodities, legal team, banks, etc.)
to resolve contractual issues and inquiries.
Continuously build knowledge of relevant contracts, markets, and Front Office strategies.
Support compliance reviews, drive process improvements, and assist in system enhancements.
Support the Commercial Risk Lead in mentoring and training other team members.
What you'll bring to the table
Experience in a similar role, with skills in contract validation and risk management, ideally from a highly regulated or energy environment.
Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Proven ability to deliver to tight deadlines and manage a diverse range of priorities, whilst maintaining exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience with treasury or trading IT systems such as GT VRX or FIS Quantum is a plus.
Proficiency in Power BI preferred.
Graduate qualifications in a business, finance, or analytical discipline preferred.
