They are a progressive business focused on seed sales and seed production and multiplication.The seed production division multiplies vegetable seed for leading international seed companies.
Working strategically in fixed growing regions with key local growers, they multiply proprietary varieties, producing the highest quality seeds primarily for export.Recent investment in the South Australian facility enables them to have some of the best seed cleaning and treatment equipment in Australia.The RoleReporting to the Managing Director, the Production Manager is responsible for managing all elements of the South Australian seed production business (staff and resources).The Naracoorte facility is central for crops grown from Mt Gambier to Bordertown.The role involves achieving company production schedules, financial goals and contracted crop targets (yield and seed quality) through careful planning and management, providing technical expertise.You will be responsible for:relationships with customers and growers, including sourcing new growersmanaging and working closely with the production and R&D staffinteracting directly with overseas clients, along with some international travelleading activities in the field, including crop inspectionsdelivering a professional level of customer service and WHSbudgeting and forecastingThe PersonTo be successful in this hands-on role you will have:experience in seed growing and production (pasture, vegetable or canola)a background in field agronomyaffinity with salesYou will be required to assist with manual duties and understand the operation of machinery.
