We do this through administration of the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 1966 (NSW) and the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Regulation 2008 (NSW).The Pharmaceutical Officer, Approvals Management, reports to the Principal Pharmaceutical Officer, Approvals Management.Crown Clerk 7/8, starting salary from $110,266- $122,058 plus Super and annual leave loading (prorated).For more information, please read the full Role Description.What you'll be doingAdminister statutory requirements under the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods legislation including:Managing approvals for the prescribing of schedule 8 medicines including psychostimulants, opioids for pain and medicines under the NSW Opioid Treatment ProgramIdentifying areas of non-compliance to support compliance with the legislation including providing high quality advice and general informationProviding high quality specialist advice about the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Legislation both written and verbal to stakeholders to support best practice in the safe and quality use of medicinesDeveloping, reviewing and evaluating policy initiatives or strategies to increase complianceAbout youWe are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:The ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.A growth mindset, and commitment to continuous learning and personal development.The ability to work in a small dynamic team environment.How to applyPlease review the role description and submit your:up-to-date resume (up to 5 pages)cover letter (1 page) highlighting your relevant skills for this role and explaining your interest and motivation in applyingresponse (1-2 pages) to the two target questions belowTarget Questions (1-2 pages)Provide an example of how you have adopted changes introduced through legislation to update a process in your role.Describe your thought process when you are presented with an enquiry requesting further information on a topic you are not familiar with.
