Design & Build Recruitment has partnered with a leading renewable energy developer to find a talented and ambitious Head of BESS to join their growing team.
This opportunity has arisen due to the company's rapid growth and expansion into new energy storage projects, with a focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
You'll be joining a dynamic and innovative team, working on large-scale projects that are shaping the future of renewable energy in Australia.

As a Head of BESS , you will have the opportunity to lead major utility-scale projects across the country, ensuring successful integration and performance of large-scale battery systems.
The role is based in Melbourne , with flexibility to work remotely and visit project sites as needed.
The interview process includes an initial meeting with senior management, followed by a technical assessment.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the integration and delivery of large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects.
Oversee project execution, ensuring successful delivery from concept through to commissioning.
Provide technical leadership on battery system integration, including batteries, inverters, and system controls.
Collaborate with engineering teams and OEMs to ensure seamless integration and project success.
Build and lead a specialized team focused on battery system integration and project management.
To succeed in this role, you should have: Hands-on experience in battery system integration and commissioning, preferably with major system integrators.
Proven track record in delivering large-scale BESS projects, from planning to commissioning.
Strong knowledge of Australian grid networks, NEM requirements, and energy storage technology.
Excellent leadership and mentoring skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
