FIP Electrical is a well-established Electrical/Engineering Contracting Company with offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Hobart.
We offer a wide range of electrical services along the eastern seaboard of Australia and are continually growing and expanding.
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator with a strong background in the Commercial, Service and Maintenance Electrical Industry for our Sydney Service department office located at 38 Tennyson Road, Mortlake.
The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and analysing electrical tenders, specifications, drawings and other relevant information to provide accurate cost estimates and prepare tender submissions.
Our projects span a variety of sectors including commercial, industrial, retail, and healthcare, with project values ranging from $1,000.00 to $20 million.
The ideal candidate must thrive in a positive and challenging working environment, be self-motivated, and capable of working autonomously.
The candidate is to contribute to the progressive improvement of the company and play a key role in the senior management team.
Duties & Responsibilities: Understanding the project thoroughly and knowing its requirements wellInterpreting technical drawings and gathering data for accurate estimatesUtilising software for analysis, forecasting, and budgetingEvaluating subcontractors' and suppliers' offers, managing risks, and building relationshipsImplementing Company Quality System Tendering proceduresPreparing accurate reports and bids for clients and projectsConducting electrical estimates and site visits as requiredIdentifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives in a proactive mannerEnsuring compliance with laws, standards, and safety regulationsAssisting project managers and other team members as needed.Qualifications and Skills: Minimum of 2 years relevant Australian experience in a similar roleElectrical trade qualifications or a background in electrical engineeringExperience with estimating software such as ConestFamiliarity with SimPRO is advantageous but not essentialStrong problem-solving and innovative solutions for customers' needsAbility to effectively manage stakeholders at all levels and contribute to business developmentCollaborative and able to work seamlessly within a high-performing teamFamiliar with financial and project management principlesIn-depth knowledge of research, data analysis methods, and estimation formulasExceptional communication and negotiation abilitiesAbility to work well under pressure and in a dynamic environmentDisplay thoroughness, reliability, and strong organisational skillsIntermediate knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)Strong attention to detail with a 'can-do' attitude and a desire to learn and progressPossess a current driver's licence and the ability to travel to site locationsThe role offers a talented, highly organised, focused, and energetic individual the opportunity to put their know-how into practice in a responsive, relaxed, and professional organisation striving for "Best Practice".
