Health, Hygiene And Wellbeing Advisor

Health, Safety & Environment (Construction) Full time Elecnor has been contracted to build EnergyConnect, a new 700km transmission line extending from Wagga Wagga NSW to the South Australian border.
This backbone infrastructure will connect customers with more renewable energy enabling a further 4950MW of generation capacity, save NSW customers $180 million a year and create 1,500 new construction jobs in regional NSW.
Construction of EnergyConnect is underway in various locations across the project area.
The Role This newly created role will play a vital role in supporting continual improvement in the sustainability performance of Elecnor.
The role will assist in the development and maintenance of health, safety and well-being related processes and initiatives as well as the analysis of data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
To be successful in this role, you are a savvy, results driven and resilient character with prior experience in a Health & Hygiene or Return to Work Coordination role.
You will currently hold or be working towards a relevant qualification in Health and Safety, Occupational Hygiene, Health, Business, or related discipline.
You will be a highly organised, solutions focused professional who is responsive, intuitive, innovative, self-motivated and driven to achieve great outcomes.
Primary responsibilities will include: Collaborate with the broader H&S team to deliver on agreed Health and Wellbeing objectives.Provide effective Health, Safety and Wellbeing support to the Corporate Office and Divisions.Proactively reviewing and managing pre-employment, and fitness for work assessments.Develop, implement and review of Elecnor's Health and Wellbeing Plan, including coordination and promotion of annual activities.Develop and implement occupational hygiene processes, focused on the identification, measurement and progressive elimination of health risks in the workplace.Conducting and completing the site quantitative base-line exposure assessment monitoring plan using air sampling, biological monitoring and physical measuring techniques.Working with the operating department supervisors and employees to ensure that personal exposure monitoring can be carried out with area cooperation.Interpreting exposure data collected to identify significant and unacceptable exposures for the areas and making recommendations to identify means of controlling and minimising potentially hazardous exposures.Leadership opportunities, with contribution to organisational systems and reporting/analytics.Implement Group Standards and Procedures.Develop Corporate Health management systems and plans.Timely analysis of data and the identification of Health, Safety and Wellbeing insights, making appropriate recommendations.Practical experience in conducting risk assessments, analysing data, and applying appropriate risk management strategies.Participate in the global HSE Assurance program.This is a 12 month fixed term contract role, based in the Sydney CBD and requires a candidate who is willing to work from our office on a full-time basis.
The ideal candidate will bring: A Bachelors in health and safety, occupational hygiene, health and sciences (or related fields).Allied health qualifications or relevant experience in a similar role.Corporate office experience, supported by operational (site) knowledge and understanding, within a Health and Safety position.Capability to self-manage Occupational Hygiene and Health related projects when required.Proven track record of successfully leading health, safety, and well-being programs at a corporate level.Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and areas of focus.Relevant working knowledge of current legislation and management systems.Conducting and reporting on internal HSE assurance audits.Field engagement and coaching.Experience developing risk management processes and facilitating risk assessments.We're building a diverse workforce.
