Management AccountantJob no: 522410Work type: Full time - wagedLocation: MelbourneCategories: FinanceAs our Management Accountant, you will work as part of the wider Management Accounting team to achieve the completion of an accurate and timely month-end close to assist key stakeholders with decision making.You will analyze monthly results and partner with various stakeholders across the business to identify favourable and unfavourable variances against forecast and advise stakeholders on areas for improvement.You will also be responsible for the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, including investigation of material reconciling items.What else will you be doing?Month-End Profit & Loss ReportingPrepare and finalise monthly venue profit and loss statements for reporting purposes, including:Review and reconciliation of Food and Beverage sales and cost of goods soldReview and analysis of venue labour costsReview and preparation of venue level operating expense accrualsAnalysis of monthly venue profit and loss statements, including identifying and explaining the cause for favourable and unfavourable variances to budgetCommunication of analysis findings to stakeholdersBusiness PartneringDevelop strong relationships with business stakeholders (including the finance team, venue managers and other department heads)Engage as an active member of the finance team and contribute to team meetingsWeekly Analysis of Profit & LossReview of weekly venue profit and loss statements against budget to identify favourable or unfavourable variances.Balance Sheet ReconciliationsPreparation of selected balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basisInvestigate and resolve any material reconciling items that exist in account reconciliations performedSkills & Attributes:Technical or functional expertise including excellent numeracy skillsAccuracy and attention to detailEffective organisation and time management skills.Ability and desire to grow with the organisation.Analytical and problem-solving skills.High level of drive, motivation, initiative and resilience.Strong written and verbal communication skillsHonesty, integrity and trustAbility to work as part of a teamQualifications & experienceTertiary qualified in finance / accountingPart CA or CPA preferred but not essentialMinimum of three years of practical experience within a large or mid-tier accounting firm or a similar role in industry.Experience in use of accounting applications and ability to adapt to new systemsIntermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skills.What's in it for you?Competitive salary + superannuationA fast-paced and supportive environmentExposure to a wealth of industry knowledgeAccess to staff discounts on food and drink across all 200+ venuesClear development opportunitiesBeing a part of Australia's fastest growing hospitality businessWFH hybrid environment (3 days WFH option over a two-week cycle)We value the diversity of our employees' experiences, talents, and cultures.
