Financial Counsellor
Full time opportunity for a qualified Financial Counsellor to work outreach and experience the local culture and region of the Goldfields.

Centrecare is a not-for-profit organisation committed to delivering quality professional counselling, support, accommodation, family violence support, mediation, justice programs and out of home care services.
The Role
Provide an outreach, assessment, counselling and referral service for clients and their families in accordance with the Financial Counselling program requirements and agency policies.
A Few Specifics
Provide casework support to clients who require assistance with financial management.
This will include: Assessing the client's overall financial situation.
Providing information and all possible options to address the client's specific problems and the implications of these for his/her financial situation.
Advocating and negotiating on the client's behalf with credit providers as required.
Responding appropriately to clients in crisis.
Identifying financial difficulties and understanding social issues and their link with financial problems.
Evaluating the financial situation and identifying possible options.
Communicating financial options to clients in a non-judgemental manner.
Minimum Requirements
In possession of recognised qualifications in financial counselling, Diploma in Community Services (Financial Counselling) or other relevant or equivalent post-secondary qualifications.
Membership with the relevant regulatory body (E.g.
Financial Counselling Australia etc.).
National Police Clearance.
Minimum of two years relevant experience providing financial counselling.
Demonstrated experience and understanding of financial counselling services and challenges of remote and rural communities.
Capacity to work from different Centrecare locations.
Highly developed communication skills, written and verbal.
