AspenTech is a global software leader helping industries meet the increasing demand for resources from a rapidly growing population in a profitable and sustainable manner.Our Digital Grid Management software suite, including AspenTech OSI products, helps power and utilities companies achieve superior real-time control, optimization and management for exceptional performance of complex energy networks.The RoleThis position gives you broad exposure to the entire ADMS and will focus on advanced applications such as Distribution Power Flow (DPF), Fault Location Isolation & Service Restoration (FLISR), Volt/VAR Control & Optimization (VVC/VVO), Outage Management Systems (OMS) and Switch Order Management (SOM).
In this role, you will be a primary point of contact with our customers throughout and after the project lifecycle.
You will have the opportunity to work across functional teams including ADMS Application Engineers, the Architecture & Product Solution teams, and our Software Development organization.Your ImpactLeads projects in the ADMS portfolio and serves as technical support expertSupport implementation of control systems at electric utilitiesParticipate in design, planning, and execution of ADMS projectsSupport testing events with the customerWork closely with functional development teams to troubleshoot, prioritize, and test product changesInterface with the utilities Geographic Information System (GIS) teams to extract, translate, and load the electrical network model to the Distribution Management SystemInterface with the utilities Customer Information System (CIS) teams to extract, translate, and load the customer model to the Outage Management SystemConfigure and integrate software components to meet contract requirement specifications and test with customersSupport in training customers on how to operate the systems being deliveredProvide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve issues observed on live systemsWhat You'll NeedBachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; degree in Electrical Engineering, Power System Engineering or a related disciplineMin 5 years of experience in a Power System Engineering role including Outage Management System and Switch Order Management Application Engineering roleDemonstrated experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex systems issues in software applicationsKnowledge of system designs, computer systems, engineering practices, and control systemsUnderstanding of Electric Distribution Power Systems and modeling is preferred (Load Flow Studies, FLISR and VVC/VVO)Familiarity with electric utilities operations and regulatory requirementsStrong written and verbal communication skillsEffectively manage time, and context switch between multiple competing tasksSeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionSoftware Development and Utilities
