Community Occupational Therapist (NDIS) MelbourneWe are looking for an experienced Community Occupational Therapist who will broadly work with participants living with permanent and significant disability on the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme).You will assist participants with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) to enable them to lead an empowered and independent life, increase safe participation in the community and to achieve the goals set out in their NDIS plan.You will empower participants and engage them in the occupations that bring meaning and purpose to their lives, this will be achieved by working with participants to enhance their ability to engage in the occupations they want, require, or are expected to do; or by modifying the occupation or the environment to better support their capacity and engagement.The successful candidate will utilise their specialist knowledge and skills to provide assessment; independent living skills training and intervention strategies; recommendations and reports to clients, carers and their families.You will:Assess NDIS participants' capacity and develop tailored interventions and strategiesProvide functional capacity assessments and progress reportsUtilise standardised assessment tools and provide occupational therapy interventions to assist in better outcomes for participantsComplete NDIS specific requirements including NDIA reports and assist with Service AgreementsMaintain your skills with up-to-date knowledge of the NDIS systems and practices to support our participantsBuild and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, family, other providers and partnersWhy should you join WISE Employment?Excellent salary package including base salary, superannuation, a company laptop, iPhone and moreA thriving organisation that genuinely cares for its people, our customers and the community at largeFantastic reward and recognition initiatives and ongoing learning and development (inc. full training upon commencement)Access to a generous range of employee benefits, including an annual Diversity Day, the ability to purchase additional annual leave and various healthy lifestyle initiativesAccess to exclusive benefits and discounts from leading retailersWhat will you bring to the role?An approved degree from a recognised School of Occupational Therapy and eligibility for membership to the Occupational Therapy AssociationCurrent registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)Commitment to participation and documentation of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) that is aligned with Australian Occupational Therapy Competency Standards and individual learning goalsCommitment to ongoing clinical supervisionExperience and demonstrated skills working with people with a disabilityCommitment to assisting people with a disability build skills and achieve their goalsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent IT literacy, planning, coordination and time managementAn Understanding of the NDIS framework and its complexitiesCurrent drivers licenceAbility to travel interstate to fulfill WISE OT services demands at a national level when required (max. once bi-monthly)Ability to provide a NDIS Workers Screening Check, ability to satisfy national police check and Working with Children Check requirementsFull Australian working rightsAbout WISE Employment: Celebrating 30 years in the employment services industry, WISE Employment is a not-for-profit organisation that is committed to providing quality employment, training and support to the disadvantaged members of our community, the long-term unemployed and people with disability.
