The Opportunity
As the Senior Infrastructure Engineering Manager, you will lead the IT infrastructure engineering team at UTS, ensuring the stability, efficiency, and security of the university's IT infrastructure.
This role involves developing and executing strategic plans for infrastructure and cloud development, overseeing technical services across campus, and driving the adoption of cutting-edge technologies such as DevSecOps and hybrid cloud environments.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions that align with the university's long-term goals.
A Day in the Life of a Senior Infrastructure Engineering Manager at UTS Lead and manage the IT infrastructure engineering team, providing mentorship and technical guidance to ensure effective infrastructure delivery.Oversee the design and implementation of cloud enablement, DevSecOps, and testing strategies to enhance performance and security.Develop and execute strategies for implementing a hybrid cloud environment, leveraging automation to optimise resources.Collaborate with IT leadership to ensure that infrastructure solutions align with the university's strategic objectives.Manage infrastructure and cloud projects, coordinating with internal teams and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.Evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in infrastructure and cloud services.Monitor and maintain the reliability, availability, and scalability of the university's IT infrastructure, ensuring compliance with security standards.Lead efforts to improve cybersecurity measures and collaborate with the cybersecurity team to mitigate potential threats. What You'll Need to Succeed: Proven experience in managing infrastructure and cloud engineering teams, with a strong track record of delivering successful infrastructure projects.In-depth knowledge of infrastructure and cloud design, implementation, and maintenance, including cloud platforms, DevSecOps methodologies, and network technologies.Demonstrated ability to lead infrastructure and cloud projects, delivering them on time and within budget.Strong skills in addressing complex technical challenges and optimising infrastructure solutions to meet business needs.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with IT teams, stakeholders, and vendors.Ability to contribute to the development of infrastructure and cloud strategies that align with UTS's long-term vision and objectives.A commitment to staying updated on emerging technologies and implementing best practices in cloud and infrastructure management. This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.
