Manager - Waste and Cleansing About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager - Waste and Cleansing to lead and manage Council's Resource Recovery and Waste Services contracts.
This key leadership role will involve driving operational excellence, fostering a culture of customer responsiveness, and contributing to the development of sustainable waste management strategies to meet community expectations.
As the Manager, you will oversee the performance of waste services and cleansing operations, ensuring compliance with council policies and industry best practices.
You will work closely with the Group Manager Operations and collaborate across various departments and external stakeholders to continuously improve service delivery and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the Waste and Cleansing department, nurturing a strong, customer focused culture.Develop and implement best practice systems, processes, and technology solutions to optimise operational efficiency.Support the development and execution of regional waste strategies, working with other Councils and external agencies to explore resource-sharing opportunities.Contribute to the review and implementation of the Council's Waste Management Policy, ensuring alignment with community and environmental goals.Provide regular reports and updates to the Group Manager Operations and Director, ensuring transparency and accountability. About You:

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in business administration, environmental studies, contract management, or a related field.Strong experience in managing contracts and contractors within the waste management or similar industries.Proven ability to manage budgets effectively and deliver projects on time and within scope.A demonstrated track record in project management and process improvement.Exceptional leadership skills, with a focus on team development and fostering a collaborative work environment.
