RCH has cared for the children and young people of Victoria for more than 150 years since it was founded in 1870.
A full range of paediatrics and adolescent health services are provided plus tertiary and quaternary care for the most critically ill and medically complex patients in Victoria, Tasmania, southern NSW and other states around Australia and overseas.
The Hospital has more than 6,000 staff, a budget of $850M, 12 wards and 350 beds.
Annually, the RCH has 300,000+ Specialist Clinic appointments, 90,000+ Emergency Department presentations and 20,000 elective surgeries.

About the Role:
This is a temporary Part Time position from 20th Jan - 6th April at 30.4 hours per fortnight within the Occupational Therapy department.
Working at the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) provides a unique and exciting opportunity to work alongside children and their families during pivotal life phases.
You will be responsible for providing occupational therapy assessment and intervention services to inpatient and/or outpatient infants, children and adolescents, to support child development and maximize participation in daily activities and quality of life.
Depending on your clinical expertise, your caseload may include infants and children admitted under trauma, surgery and/or medical specialties.
You will have opportunities to broaden your knowledge, skills and experience across a variety of paediatric areas in an acute tertiary hospital setting.
To ensure the inpatient occupational therapy needs are met on the weekend, this Grade 2 role may be required to work some weekend shifts.
Classification for this position will range from VF6-VF9 Grade 2 Year 1 to Grade 2 Year 4 (FTE base salary $86,730 to $99,699 per annum, plus superannuation).
What You'll Achieve:
In collaboration with patients and their families and the multidisciplinary team, provide assessment of function and developmental needs and interventions that facilitate care plans and appropriate discharge.
Evidence-based and outcome-focused intervention that makes an impact on meaningful outcomes for infants, children and young adults during their individual healthcare journey.
Your Skills and Experience:
Be an established paediatric OT looking to expand your clinical knowledge and skills within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Experience working within acute care or a hospital environment.
Experience working with children who require developmental support.
Be interested in working within RCH tertiary multidisciplinary clinics (alongside engaged medical teams) to ensure children with rare conditions access the supports they need within the community.
Have confidence in educating patients/parents/discipline staff/multidisciplinary team and members of the wider community to minimize risk and promote successful outcomes for patient care.
Be committed to evidence-based practice, and integration into everyday clinical care.

About the Department:
The Occupational Therapy department is within the Division of Ambulatory Services.
We provide inpatient and outpatient services for infants, children, adolescents with a wide range of medical conditions.
Our team works closely with families, carers, community services and other health care professionals to ensure the best occupational therapy outcomes for our patients.

Other Requirements:
Recognised graduate-entry qualification in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor, Masters or Doctorate).
Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain.
Valid Working with Children Check.
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willing to obtain.
Compliance with RCH's "Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases" procedure.
