With new mines, new equipment and a new energy across our business, there's never been a better time to join Westgold.About the opportunityThe Bluebird underground mine has been expanding rapidly since recommencement of mining in mid FY22, with further extensions and opportunities being identified. A second decline commenced in mid FY23 to expand the mining footprint with outputs continuing to rise with grades well above the original plan.The South Junction zone to the South of Bluebird has shown potential for further expansion and is a subject of current investigation.Westgold Resources is on the lookout for a detail-oriented Underground Senior Geologist to assist in the implementation and execution of geological tasks.The role includesPerforming accurate detailed underground mapping and samplingTraining and development of the Geology teamData validation of diamond drill holes and underground face mapping ensuring high-quality data for modelling.Daily ROM and stope inspectionsWork collaboratively with the wider mining team to optimise ore extractionGeological logging of diamond drilling core as required or directed by Senior GeologistDaily tracking and reporting of productionContribute to the ongoing maintenance of underground sample QAQC to a high standardDrill program design and implementationStope review and reconciliationWhat do I need?6+ years' experience in underground mine geologyTertiary Qualification in GeologyExperience in gold miningPossesses a current and valid Manual Driver's LicencePossesses a National Police Clearance valid within the last 12 monthsThe ability to pass Westgold's pre-employment processThe Westgold Offer:A permanent full-time position at a successful gold producerPerformance based bonusSite Allowance (if applicable)Group salary continuous insuranceA health and wellness allowanceA range of Family and Medical leave policies that includes IVF, surrogacy and adoption.Referral Bonus - bring your mates along5 years' pro rata long service leaveSalary sacrifice optionsEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) that includes free confidential counselling and wellbeing services including financial advice.Westgold is driven by our core values of Show Respect, Choose Safety and Deliver Value.
