The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools.
We provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian students birth to 18 years.
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Senior Secondary Certificate Reform Division (SSCRD) for two, 1-year fixed term full-time positions commencing on 1 January 2025.
Two, 12 month fixed term positions till 31 December 2025 Usual hours of work: Full time (flexible work conditions are available) Work location: East Melbourne About the division
VCAA's SSCRD is responsible for leading and implementing generational reform to Victoria's senior secondary certification in response to the 2020 Review into Vocational and Applied Learning Pathways in Senior Secondary Schooling (The Firth Review).
The reforms are supporting all Victorian secondary students to access engaging curriculum where they can connect their learning to real-life and workplace experiences.
The Senior Program Advisor – VCE Vocational Major and Victorian Pathways Certificate will work in a team of 3 Program Advisors to support the state-wide implementation of the VCE VM and the VPC, including contribution to the following workflows and projects:
Provide procedural support for schools including; Management of regular communications Management of VCE VM and VPC content on the VCAA website, and the handbooks VASS and eligibility query management Provide curriculum and pedagogical support including; Management of study/curriculum design reviews and implementation (VPC & VCE VM) Curriculum, program design and delivery support Development and publication of support materials Provide ongoing professional learning & support including managing; Contribute to professional learning programs (in person, online, on demand) Correspondence, stakeholder engagement and Communities of practice.
Contribute to major reform projects Contribute to professional learning development and delivery Contribute to development, accreditation, publication and implementation of the new VPC studies To be successful in this role

You are a highly organised and professional person, capable of managing projects with numerous contributors and stakeholders for demanding clients to firm deadlines and budget constraints.
Your excellent stakeholder management and communication skills will help you steer, support and deliver successful survey, data, reporting and improvement projects.
Experience and qualifications
Essential: Experience developing senior secondary curriculum, teaching and assessment, especially for applied learning programs.
Essential: Leading teacher, Learning Specialist or similar/equivalent experience in an educational setting.
Essential: Experience delivering professional learning to teachers /other professionals; developing and implementing policy.
