Your new role The primary purpose of the Caring Dads Program Practitioner position is to enhance men's motivation, promote child-centred fathering, address men's ability to engage in respectful, non-abusive co-parenting with children's mothers, recognise that children's experience of trauma will impact the rate of possible change, and work collaboratively with other service providers to ensure that children benefit.Initial assessment of group readiness, engagement, safety and psychosocial support needs.Joint facilitation of the 17-week evidence-based and manualised Caring Dads group program with fathers who use family violence.Provision of wrap-around case management support to fathers.Participate in and contribute to Caring Dads Program tasks and activities including intake and assessment, program monitoring and evaluation, ensuring development of practice tools, processes and enhance overall program outcomes.About you Hold a tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, child and family social welfare or related discipline.An understanding of the impacts of substance use in a Family Violence context is desirable.An understanding of working with a Correctional cohort is desirable.Highly developed intake and assessment skills for group readiness.Time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks and competing demands.Demonstrated experience and skills in co-facilitating group work, through a therapeutic trauma-informed practice lens of family violence.Demonstrated experience working with fathers who use or are at risk of using family violence.Experience in working with high-risk men will also be considered.Excellent understanding of current family violence theories and practice frameworks.A demonstrated understanding of the historical impacts of trauma.Demonstrated capability to network and build productive relationships with stakeholders both inside and outside the organisation.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of current theoretical approaches and best practices for working with families where family violence has occurred.How we reward you An organisation that truly lives its values.Kids First understands the importance of work-life balance and flexible working and has a policy to support this.Be nurtured in your career, including professional development in specialist evidence-based models, such as Promoting First Relationships (PFR).Enjoy 'not for profit' benefits such as salary packaging to increase your take-home pay.We know how important it is to spend time with family which is why you get 3 additional leave days at Christmas.Purchased leave and portable long service leave options.Access our Staff Wellbeing Program.Don't delay, apply now Only applications submitted via our website will be considered.
