This position has responsibility for ensuring the Commission demonstrates leading practice in the areas of governance and compliance and is responsible for coordinating the Commission's process of monitoring, evaluating on impacts and reporting on performance.
Key Responsibilities: Play a role in ensuring the Commission demonstrates leading practice in the areas of governance and compliance.Provide secretariat function for the Commission's Board and committees.Manage a suite of integrity and compliance related frameworks, policies, procedures, and registers.Support staff across the Commission to ensure good governance and integrity is maintained.Contribute to the ongoing management of the Commission's risk management framework and support the internal audit function.About the Commission The Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission is an independent statutory body with responsibilities under Victoria's key human rights laws - the Equal Opportunity Act 2010, the Racial and Religious Tolerance Act 2001, the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006, and the Change and Suppression Practice Prohibition Act 2021. About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience in providing high-level Board secretariat services.Experience working in a governance, legal or compliance environment at a senior level, preferably in a government environment or an ability to quickly develop these skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully in a dynamic, fast-paced, and supportive team.Qualifications A relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience in (Law, Governance, Risk, Policy) is desirable but not essential.How to Apply Please click the Apply button on this advertisement.
