Senior Electrical Specialist for Freeport Indonesia - Expat Senior Electrical Specialist – Expat PT RUC Cementation Indonesia, mining contractor under Redpath Group, is seeking an Underground Senior Electrical Specialist to join our Freeport operations in Indonesia.
RUC is an established Underground Contractor with an extensive portfolio of Development, Production, Shaft Sinking, and Raise boring projects throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific.
About the Role The Underground Senior Electrical Specialist works as part of the Electrical and Automation teams at Big Gossan mine.
The role plays a vital part in supporting the Electrical, Mechanical and Mine Operations teams in the safe and efficient operation of all Electrical installations in the mine including Electrical reticulation and maintenance of Drill Rigs, rock breakers, and Loading Points.
The Big Gossan Mine is a large sublevel open-stope mine producing in excess of 250,000t per month utilizing shaft haulage and paste backfill.
RUC undertakes the complete scope of UG mining works at Big Gossan such as production and development activities, operating shaft hoist, mine construction works, and short-term scheduling.
Some of your key responsibilities include: Mentor and train national employees.
Short term planning/scheduling and Breakdowns.
Provide technical support to Electrical and mine operations team.
Identify technical and operational improvement initiatives.
Maintenance and Breakdown repairs to electrical infrastructure U/G.
Breakdown/Maintenance of U/G drill rigs.
Complete Monthly Scheduled Statutory requirements.
Installation of U/G reticulation.
Managing project work.
Liaise with client and other contractors.
Provide safety leadership by example.
Successful candidate must have: Trade qualified Electrician Certificate III in Electrical Technology or above with a Minimum of 5 years in an Underground Environment.
High Voltage certification.
CPR/LVR.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Relevant experience in both underground production and development activities.
Diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Exposure to underground Sandvik/Caterpillar equipment.
Driver's license.
Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
Desirable: Networking Experience, Cisco and MST exposure would be highly regarded.
U/G Automation (Loaders and Drill Rigs).
Overseas experience.

Roster 8 weeks on, 4 weeks off rotation.
Work 6 days on, 1 day off per week whilst onsite.

Flights and travel costs covered from POH to/from site (Option to fly to other destinations other than POH).
