About the Organisation
Mister Minit started from humble beginnings in 1957 when they launched their first 'Heel Bar' in a Brussels department store in Belgium.
The fashion of the day was stiletto heels that broke by the thousands on the cobblestone streets.
In 1967 they established operations in Australia and have since grown to 370+ stores across Australia and New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia excelling in the services of Shoe Repair, Key Cutting, Engraving and Watch Service.
Mister Minit's future will be continually driven by their vision 'By fixing people's problems we will be the most trusted brand in households and personal services throughout Asia and the Pacific.
We are currently looking for an experienced Shoe Maker/Repairer to work in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Darwin, Hobart and other cities.
Reporting to the Area Manager, the primary responsibilities are:
Repair soles, heels, and other footwear components using sewing, buffing, and specialized shoe repair machines and materials.
Repair belts, luggage, purses, and similar leather or fabric products.
Discuss and assess footwear requirements with customers, taking accurate measurements for custom shoes.
Select and cut patterns from leather or other materials, and assemble or fasten shoe parts (e.g., insoles, soles) using sewing, gluing, or stitching methods.
Trim, dress, and finish shoes and boots to ensure high-quality craftsmanship.
Estimate repair or custom footwear costs, provide quotes, and process payments.
May supervise and provide guidance to other shoemakers and repairers to ensure efficient operations.
Requirements:
AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV, OR Three years of relevant full-time experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
Track record of leadership and management skills is preferred.
Above all else, you need to be friendly, bright, enjoy learning and mastering tasks, as well as a true passion for serving your customers.
