That's why we believe diversity is our greatest strength.The RoleHDR is currently seeking a highly experienced Structural Engineer at Principal or Associate Director level to join our engineering team. Based in either Brisbane or Melbourne, this role will see you taking the technical lead on major projects, supporting our well-established structures group. Our team currently provides design services to some of the largest transportation projects across Queensland, including Coomera Connector Stage 1 Central Package and we are looking for an experienced practitioner to join our global network.This is a hands-on engineering role driving the technical delivery on our projects and we'll count on you to:Provide specialist advice and lead the technical delivery on design activities associated with transport structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls, gantries and tunnels.Supervise and conduct structural analysis and remediation design of bridges and other structures.Manage the development of structural asset management deliverables including design reports, drawings, models, specifications etc.Support the expansion of HDR's other services providing technical design experience and support to the broader structures team.Take active leadership towards safety with other staff members.Lead, motivate and guide the structures team, providing regular guidance and support to foster career development and enhance team performance.Promote a culture of continuous learning and growth within the team.Build staff capabilities through mentoring, Annual Review and Outlook (ARO), development and training.Champion and demonstrate HDR values and culture.Perform other duties as required.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent15+ years' relevant experienceConsulting experience – highly advantageousProject delivery experience demonstrating detailed knowledge of TMR technical requirements – essentialExcellent structural engineering skills with significant experience in the analysis, design and management of transport-related structuresCPEng and RPEQ accreditation (or eligibility to easily obtain)Highly developed skills in the use of appropriate structural and asset management software applications and design tools (e.g. SpaceGass, Strand 7, SAM, Excel etc)This role is well suited to a highly experienced structural engineer who enjoys technical delivery and is looking for an opportunity to work in major projects for an organisation that is 100% employee owned.Benefits and CultureBroad-based Employee Shares ProgramGlobal organisation with opportunities for international travel and collaborationFinancial advice and wellbeing programsHDR University learning platform with access to webinars, LinkedIn Learning, and the Pinnacle SeriesRewards program including referrals, long service awards, and certification bonusesCompany paid Annual Professional Membership FeesCompany paid Parental Leave for primary and secondary caregiversEmployee Assistance ProgramA culture that supports and encourages inclusion and diversity where each of us are welcomed, valued, respected, and empowered to bring our authentic selves to work every dayWhy HDRAt HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for; it's also about what you do and how you do it.
