About The Role We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced residential Drill and Blast Engineer to join our new Vickery Mine Team as part of early mining activities.
Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the Drill & Blast Engineer will support operations by owning all technical aspects of the Drill and Blast activities on site.
What You'll Do Provide technical guidance for all drill and blast activities on siteDevelop and maintain plans, designs and blast packs for all blastsProvide direction to Technical Services and Operations with regards to shot locations, timing and blasting requirementsEnsure drill patterns are available for drilling in a timely manner so as to minimise operational delaysMaintain 2 week Drill and Blast schedule and communicate sequence and requirements to Operations and Technical ServicesWhat You'll Bring Minimum two years of mining experience in a Drill and Blast engineering roleExperience with Blastlogic and Vulcan (or similar mine planning software)High level written and oral communication skillsHigh level computer literacyStrong data analysis skillsWhy Whitehaven Coal?
