About the Role The Manager Infrastructure will lead the planning, development, and renewal of Kingston's civil, building, and traffic infrastructure assets.
This role is pivotal in shaping Kingston's approach to infrastructure management, providing strategic direction while ensuring operational excellence across key service areas.
As a leader in the Infrastructure and Open Space directorate, you will oversee a diverse team responsible for asset management, emergency management, and infrastructure design and delivery.
You will focus on fostering collaboration across departments, encouraging initiatives for contemporary practice and driving cultural and operational enhancements.
This includes overseeing the development of long-term asset investment plans, delivering high performing traffic engineering and emergency management services, , and ensuring efficient capital works planning and delivery.
With oversight of critical infrastructure services such as roads, buildings, and drains, you will be instrumental in driving innovation and creating pragmatic yet creative solutions that meet community needs.
The role also encompasses leadership in emergency management, ensuring Kingston is well-prepared and responsive to critical incidents.
About You You are a leader with the capability to inspire change, create high performing teams ensuring contemporary practices, and deliver measurable outcomes in infrastructure management.
Your proactive approach, political awareness, and strategic mindset will enable you to drive innovation and enhance service delivery at Kingston.
You bring a wealth of experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and implementing creative solutions in the civil, building and traffic infrastructure space.
You excel at stakeholder management, including engagement with Councillors, and have a demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments, influence senior leaders, and engage with the community.
Your technical expertise is complemented by strong financial acumen, with a proven ability to manage large budgets and deliver projects on time and within scope.
With a focus on continuous improvement, you are adept at aligning infrastructure services with long-term strategic organisational goals.
A tertiary qualification in engineering and registration (or eligibility for registration) as a Professional Engineer (Civil) with Engineers Australia is preferable.
