An exciting opportunity has arisen for Estimators to join our team of Civil Discipline and Plumbing.
This role can be based in our Sydney or Canberra office and will have coverage across regional NSW and the ACT.
Opportunity - About the Role As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase of our projects.
You will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with civil engineering and plumbing projects, ensuring competitiveness while maintaining profitability.
This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of construction methods and materials.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in analysing project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for projects.Coordinate with the project management and engineering teams to understand project requirements and develop accurate estimates.Perform thorough quantity take-offs and cost analysis for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor services.Prepare detailed estimates and cost breakdowns.Research and evaluate vendor and subcontractor bids to ensure competitive pricing and project cost effectiveness.Assist in the preparation of all Tender / Submission Documents including programs, methodologies, and other aspects.Present and justify estimates to management, clients, and stakeholders, providing clear explanations for proposed costs.Maintain pricing and cost records to allow for market intelligence in estimating.Conduct post-submission reviews to enhance tender outcomes.Attend on-site inspections and clarification discussions as required.Qualifications: Proven experience as a Civil or Plumbing Estimator in the construction industry, with a strong track record of successful project estimates.Proficient in construction estimating software such as Bluebeam, Procore, or similar tools.Understanding of plumbing and civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical documents and drawings.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in estimating project costs.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Perks and Benefits As a crew, we're honest, reliable, and competent.
