The Senior Communications Adviser's role is to deliver impactful communications focused on South East Water's customers, communities, people and environment – innovating with purpose and acting with care, as we deliver essential water and wastewater services.
Some of the key accountabilities will include the following: Leading the development of communication strategies promoting our major capital works and other organisational projects Developing and implementing communications like project messaging and Q&As, identifying opportunities and risks early.
Identifying or providing input into emerging or active issues Leading the maintenance of our public information approach in an incident or crisis Contributing to organisational communication activities as required Acting as a Public Information Officer in the event of an incident and participating in an on-call duty roster Who are you?
Armed with a tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, journalism or other related field, you'll possess a minimum of 2–5 years' experience in communications, media or community relations, ideally within in a large complex environment where you've been required to balance proactive and reactive communications activities.
A creative thinker by nature, you'll have demonstrated experience assessing unexpected situations and developing communication strategies to navigate through change or uncertainty.
You'll also possess high-level planning, influencing, negotiation, facilitation and issues and crisis management skills as well as high level verbal, interpersonal and written skills.
Finally, you'll bring experience in leading communications for capital projects and managing complex or sensitive issues, as well as overseeing public information efforts during incidents or crises.
Throughout these responsibilities, you'll be a collaborative team player, building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

This role is remunerated at a Level 5 , which is between $112,377 and $125,011 + super and offers are commensurate with the successful candidates' experience.

This includes participation in a rostered after-hours duty team, emergency response, and incident support as required.
