Our client is a boutique construction consultancy offering construction planning, advice, and client project management services across various sectors including:
Commercial Residential Education Healthcare Mixed-use Retail Hotel They are now seeking an Assistant / Project Manager to join their professional team in their Melbourne office.
A high degree of client and stakeholder liaison will be involved, from feasibility stage to delivery stage of the project.
The role will require strong communication skills along with a solid technical knowledge and ability to administer a contract.
The ideal candidate will be a contract administrator coming from a head contractor background and looking to transition to client side project management, although candidates can also come from a consultancy background.
New build experience in projects of a similar nature is preferred, with projects ranging from $50m to $200m+ in residential, commercial, hotel, mixed use, built to rent, etc.
All projects involve A grade clients, and they typically manage projects from front end advisory through the 360 process of delivering the job.
Years of experience: 3 - 5+ years
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Client management and consultation Project Planning/Feasibility studies Risk Management Value Engineering Design Management and Value Engineering Procurement of construction services Cost control and cost reporting and superintendent Managing project delivery Commissioning and post contract duties for handover Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor of Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or property related qualification 3 – 5+ years of end-to-end project management on building projects Strategic thinker who is able to see the bigger picture Excellent verbal and written communication skills Previous client side project management experience ideal This is a permanent full-time position providing a great opportunity to work with a successful and innovative organisation that offers challenging work and the potential for career progression.
