With a focus on innovation and sustainability, the client plays a key role in meeting the evolving energy needs of Australian communities while advancing towards a more efficient and green energy future.Job DescriptionYour key responsibilities will include:Providing technical expertise associated with protection relays, field devices, control devices, and auxiliary systems.Providing expert input into asset management strategies and philosophies.Providing expert input into protection, control, and automation device and scheme performance and technical specifications.Providing expert input into the development of equipment standards.Contributing towards maintenance policy/practices.Initiating projects (developing concepts, preparing business cases, and project handover documentation).Supporting the implementation of asset management and asset replacement initiatives.Supporting Network Operations to achieve annual capital and operational works plans.Assessing and reviewing the condition of installed protection, control, and automation assets.Reviewing/auditing and maintaining asset-related databases.Investigating and analyzing equipment failures or problems, drafting reports, creating remedial actions.Making technical decisions in relation to protection, control, and automation schemes and devices.Approving relevant technical documentation.Participating in regulator and internal audits as required.Providing support for emergency response events, as required.Measures of SuccessWholly accountable metrics:100% Delivery of capex and opex works programs approvals for protection, control, and automation devices from year to year.All protection, control, and automation devices documentation kept current from year to year.Incident and failure investigations are completed within required timeframes to the required quality.Audit and investigations actions are completed within the required timeframes.Technical and operational support provided in required timeframes.Shared metrics:Recordable Injury Frequency Rate (RIFR) targets.Mission Zero conversation targets.Customer service and SLA targets.Reliability targets, including USAIDI, USAIFI, and MAIFI.STPIS targets.Adherence to corporate values.Collective Asset Management outcomes.The Successful ApplicantDegree qualified in Engineering.5+ years of engineering/asset management experience.Demonstrated commitment to safety outcomes.Understanding of Asset Management leading practices, frameworks, and relevant standards.Understanding of relevant Regulatory frameworks and legislation.Understanding of relevant Australian and International standards and industry codes of practice.Ability to lead and coordinate failure and incident investigations.Ability to connect with organizational strategy and identify what is required at a tactical level to achieve it.Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing strategic asset management plans, preferably in a regulated environment.In-depth knowledge of distribution system components, equipment, and technologies, with a focus on protection, control, and automation devices and emerging trends and innovations.Knowledge of relevant software packages used for analysis and design of protection and control schemes - e.g., specific relay software, DigSilent.Strong analytical skills and the ability to leverage data-driven insights to inform decision-making and optimize asset performance.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.An advanced level of reasoning skills and engineering judgment.What's on OfferCareer DevelopmentCompetitive salaryCutting-edge projects that will shape the future of energy infrastructure.
