Estimator/Building Supervisor - Insurance IndustryAbout the businessEstablished in 1996, Patterson's Insurerbuild has been servicing the insurance industry for 28 years, providing specialised insurance building repairs across Australia following an insurable event such as fire, flood, impact, storm, and malicious damage.About the roleThe Estimator/Building Supervisor is the first point of contact for our clients, their customers, and our sub-contractors. The role involves carrying out the estimation for reinstatement works to both domestic and commercial buildings damaged by insurable events. The role is also responsible for organising and supervising trades involved in reinstatement works. This position is essential to the success of the claim and remains the point of contact for our clients, their customers, and our sub-contractors.If you have worked in the construction industry where repair and restoration has been the focus, please consider this exciting and challenging role.A fully maintained company vehicle, mobile phone, and laptop will be provided.Patterson's offers career development pathways with great career prospects available.Competitive salary package.Skills and experience:Strong technical building knowledge with a qualified Carpentry Trade background preferred. Knowledge of BCA and Australian standards.Minimum 3 years trade/Building Supervision experience.Strong time and organisational management skills with the ability to work autonomously and within a team.Proven customer service and communication skills; must be empathetic to the needs of the customer.Insurance industry building experience is considered an advantage but not essential.Intermediate computer skills including experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Microsoft Project, and using a tablet PC on the go with intermediate typing skills.The ability to assist with estimating jobs will be an advantage.Role and responsibilities:Conduct site assessments and quotations for property damaged by insurable events, such as flood and fire.Manage construction projects to meet safety, cost, time, and quality objectives.Ensure scopes of work are accurate prior to works commencing.Liaise with insurance companies and insured clients.Engage and manage trades to meet time and budget criteria.Ensure Health and Safety requirements are met.Occasional interstate travel to other offices to assist in the increased workloads following major events may be required.This role will require excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on the ability to influence business and external stakeholders.Please note: applicants must have full unrestricted Australian working rights and will be required to complete a police check successfully prior to commencement.PBG is committed to achieving a diverse workforce and encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.Please visit our website for more information about our company: www.insurerbuild.com
