We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Kong API Gateway, Lua scripting, and network load balancing to help us build scalable, robust, and efficient platforms.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and optimize Kong API Gateway solutions: Collaborate with teams to build, deploy, and manage API gateway solutions that enhance the scalability, security, and performance of our applications.Lua Scripting: Write, maintain, and troubleshoot custom Lua scripts to extend and enhance Kong API functionality. Provide scripting solutions for traffic management, routing, security policies, and more.Network Load Balancing: Design and implement highly available, scalable load balancing solutions across distributed systems, ensuring high availability and minimal latency.Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize the performance of Kong API gateway components, ensuring minimal downtime and high throughput across systems.Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Security, Product, etc.) to integrate Kong with other systems, including monitoring tools, CI/CD pipelines, and security platforms.Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex networking, load balancing, and API-related issues, providing support and resolution in a timely manner.Security: Ensure security best practices are implemented and maintained across API gateways, including but not limited to rate limiting, authentication, authorization, and encryption.Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for APIs, scripts, system configurations, and troubleshooting processes. Technical SkillsAPI Gateways: Extensive experience with Kong API Gateway, including deployment, scaling, and performance tuning.Scripting Languages: Proficiency in Lua, along with familiarity with other scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.).Networking: Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S), load balancing, and routing principles.Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker).Security: Knowledge of security best practices in API design and network traffic (SSL, OAuth, JWT, etc.) Talented, committed, can-do individuals have always been the cornerstone of our dynamic organisation.
