Sous Chef at Crowne Plaza Canberra HotelWe're currently seeking a Sous Chef to join our team at the Crowne Plaza Canberra Hotel. Our team look after Redsalt Restaurant, Lume Bar, Room Service, and Conferencing catering for functions up to 150 people.Reporting to the Executive Chef, our Sous Chef manages the day to day running of the kitchen. This is a hands-on role, leading by example while supporting and mentoring the team. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef on:Understanding of budgets, labour and food costsEnsuring ordering is completedResponsible for planning menus and the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentationHands-on approach in the kitchen, while coaching and training the team on cooking techniques and proceduresAttending meetings as required with other managers in the businessParticipating in WHS meetings and working within hygiene regulationsWe're looking for someone with well-rounded experience in creating food for breakfast, lunch, dinner, room service, and functions. The successful candidate will be a great leader with a high level of verbal communication, strong time management skills, impeccable attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure. You have a genuine passion for the food industry, ensuring quality and maintaining high standards while keeping the kitchen running smoothly.
