The G2 Ward at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Clinical Nurse to join their team on a permanent basis.
Your opportunity
The Clinical Nurse (CN) provides nursing services within the health service settings; and is responsible for a portfolio with a focus on clinical care/leadership, management, education and/or research.
The activities are predominantly clinical in nature, but also provide support to a Nurse Grade 7 or above in management activities.
The CN provides advanced level clinical skills to ensure patient-focused evidence-based nursing care, plans and coordinates the clinical management of patient/client care and provides leadership and support to other nursing staff.
About the Team
This is an exciting opportunity for a rare, permanent Clinical Nurse position.
Medical G2 is a young but determined ward and has a strong team ethos.
We are a close knit, high performing team with a strong vision.
The G2 Ward is a 28-bed adult medical unit which has the capacity to expand to 30 beds if required.
The unit provides multi-disciplinary assessment, management and care to general medical patients inclusive of Oncology, Cardiology, Respiratory, Renal and Acute General Medicine.

Our service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff.
The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
