Personnel Area: Brisbane InfrastructureBranch: ConstructionSalary Range: The position attracts a competitive remuneration and benefits package dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.Work type: 1x Permanent full-time, 38 hour week, 9 day fortnight with opportunities for overtime.Location: Regional Operations Centre (ROC), Eagle FarmOur BusinessBrisbane Infrastructure (BI) brings together Council's asset management, infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction, services, maintenance, and transport operations activities.Our BranchConstruction is a diverse branch that provides a wide range of services.We play a critical role in ensuring Council's assets are fit for purpose and provide opportunities for residents and visitors to explore and enjoy Brisbane.The RoleWe currently have an opportunity for one permanent full-time Electrician to join our Construction team based at the ROC – Regional Operations Centre in Eagle Farm.
The role will support management in the maintenance of electrical assets as part of a team of technical and professional staff.We are looking for an electrician experienced with installation, fault finding and testing works in the following areas: Rate 3 street lighting, park lighting, facility lighting, switchboard installations/modifications, and general electrical maintenance.
There are opportunities to pick up additional skills in other areas of BCC electrical project work, such as CCTV, ITS, and Traffic Signals.To be successful you will have:QLD open electrical licence (Electrical mechanic)Drivers Licence, MR desirableAbility to work in a small team, and independently as requiredDemonstrated skills in electrical equipment installation, fault diagnosis, and repairsKnowledge of QLD mandatory electrical testing processesAbility to work from ladders and at heights via scissor lift and/or EWPAbility to understand and follow instructions, and work through general electrical drawings/designsKnowledge of, and the ability to apply, the AS/NZS 3000 Wiring rulesKnowledge of Workplace Health and Safety Act and the Electrical Safety Act.Benefits of working for Council include:Free gym and wellness centerGenerous superannuation of 14%Career progression and professional developmentGenerous leave arrangements including paid maternity, paternity, and carer's leave, 17.5% loading on annual leaveAccess to 24/7 confidential employee assistance program service.How to apply: Click on the 'I'm interested' button to complete your online application.
