The Country Liberal Party is a political party formed by Territorians for Territorians. The Party is affiliated with both the Liberal Party of Australia and the Nationals, with members of Parliament both in Federal Parliament and the NT Parliament. The Country Liberal Party (CLP) is a not-for-profit, unincorporated association of members who subscribe to the Party's Philosophy and Platform. The right person will be an experienced and motivated individual with a strong commitment to the values of the Country Liberal Party. Annual leave is not available to take within 12 weeks of a Federal or NT election. The position is a public-facing role. Qualifications & experienceDemonstrated record of success working to a Management CommitteeExperience in working in a volunteer and member-based organisation will be an advantageProven ability to exercise sound judgment, particularly in respect to political sensitivity and confidentiality.Organisational and time management skills, prioritising competing requirements, and meeting critical deadlinesExperience in developing and maintaining professional relationships with all stakeholdersDemonstrated written and oral communication skills in a diverse environmentProven ability to work independently and with a broader team, use initiative, adapt to change, and be self-motivated in high-pressure situationsA high level of knowledge and use of computer systems including Microsoft Office, document records and member database and ideally desktop publishing applications. Previous experience or ability to learn to use XERO as a financial management tool.A commitment to the aims and policies of the Northern Territory Country Liberal Party and a motivation to serve the PartyAn understanding of the political process.Tasks & responsibilitiesMaintain the Secretariat office during business hours and provide support services to specified CLP Committees and Conferences and act as Returning Officer, when required.Provide Membership Services to Branches and Members including maintaining the Member Register, ensuring renewals and new member payments are processed in a timely manner and New Member Kits are provided.Act as a point of contact for external inquiries.Maintain effective governance and reporting systems in all areas of responsibility and maintain security and control of Party assets and records. Maintain all existing handbooks and forms.Be a point of contact and information on the: Constitution of the Country Liberal Party, Party Philosophy and Platform, Party policies, Party Handbooks, Party Wing and Office of the Chief Minister.Adhere to required work, health and safety requirements. Maintain the office infrastructure including liaison with the landlord for R & M, follow through on maintenance agreements and contracts for the office and maintain office supplies.In consultation with, and approval of, the Treasurer process all accounts receivable and payable including membership and Branch transactions, issue receipts, manage petty cash and undertake banking in a timely manner.Coordinate arrangements for Party conferences including venues, social events, invitations, preparation of programs, etc and provide secretariat services for specific meetings.In consultation with President and General Secretary prepare and circulate agendas and meeting papers in accordance with constitutional requirements.During election campaigns provide support to the Campaign Committee, Campaign Director, and any other campaign structures, as required, including organising volunteers.An annual allowance will be paid to take account of any after-hours and weekend work. #J-18808-Ljbffr
