About the role
We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer to support and strengthen curriculum delivery and research in the Social and Political Sciences Program in the School of Communication, whilst also contributing to the continuous improvement of the program.
The position is a balanced role with an emphasis on teaching, research and engagement contributions.
The position will be based at the centrally located UTS Campus in Ultimo and will report directly to the Head of SPS.
About You
The ideal candidate to join our team will be a dynamic and dedicated professional who brings a rich blend of teaching, research, and leadership skills to the Centre.
We are seeking an Indigenous identified academic who can demonstrate experience in working with community and/or with Indigenous and First Nations students at a tertiary institution.
Successful applications should also have:
A doctoral degree (PhD/DCA) in a related discipline that is preferably aligned with the social and political sciences.
(Candidates who are close to submission and can provide supporting documentation of the status of their candidature, may also apply) Ability to teach and develop curriculum for undergraduate and postgraduate courses (both online and on campus as needed) in social sciences, history, environmental studies, or other relevant discipline within the Social and Political Sciences remit.
Demonstrated ability in successful subject coordination and management of teams and groups in a multi-disciplinary academic setting Up to date knowledge and understanding of contemporary scholarship, professional best practice, and current issues in the social sciences, history, environmental studies or other areas relevant to the Social and Political Sciences A track record of outstanding contributions to scholarship and research in the discipline as evidenced by ongoing academic research outputs Role Eligibility

Base Salary Range: $117,420 to $138,973 pa (Level B).
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and the appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
