Disability Support Workers

Opportunities exist for experienced and committed Support Workers to assist a client live his best life on Kangaroo Island. We have several opportunities for experienced support workers to join our Kangaroo Island roster and work active overnights with some possible day shifts. You will be working in tandem with another support worker, 4 hours on and 4 hours off, but paid for the entirety of the overnight shift (10.5 hours).
You will be required to assist our client who has a high-level spinal cord injury with all aspects of his care needs.
Your roster would be 2 weeks on the island and 2 weeks off.
Your shifts on the island would be 5 nights on, 2 nights off across the 2 weeks.
Accommodation provided.
Suitable applicants must have: Completed Health Support Training (Medication, Infection control and Continence Care)Certificate III in Individual Supports, Disability Cert IV or equivalentNDIS Worker ClearanceWorking with Children CheckFirst Aid and CPR certificateReliable vehicle, sound driving history and a valid driver's licenceExperience in supporting a client with a Spinal Cord Injury is preferredClear communication, negotiating and listening skillsA person-centred approach and confidence in your practiceOur Commitment to you is to provide you with the following: Shared Accommodation - offsiteTravel expenses including ferry to & from K.I.Paid well above the AwardAdditional training that is relevant to our clients' individual needsMcArthur Community Care was established in 2015 from a deep desire to provide trusted, tailored and ongoing services to people who live with a disability.
