Your Opportunity
Reporting to the Executive General Manager – Customer Strategy and Governance, the General Manager Legal and Governance plays a pivotal role in leading Seqwater's Legal Services and Governance functions.
This position is the General Counsel for Seqwater, responsible for providing strategic legal counsel, developing governance frameworks, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory obligations.
As a trusted advisor, the role will contribute to Seqwater's mission by driving excellence in governance, risk management, and ethical practice.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert legal advice to the Board and executive leadership.
Develop and implement governance frameworks to promote accountability, effectiveness and transparency.
Formulate and oversee high-level strategies to prevent, detect, and respond to fraud and corruption risks, fostering a culture of integrity.
Inspire and lead a high-performing legal and governance team.
Foster strategic relationships with regulators, government bodies, and key stakeholders.
About You:
You are a skilled leader and strategic thinker with:
A Bachelor's degree in Law and admission as a legal practitioner in Australia.
Substantial senior-level experience in legal advisory, governance, and compliance roles.
A proven ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams to achieve high performance.
Demonstrated high performance within a similar sector, particularly through significant periods of enterprise-wide change, including significant OPEX and CAPEX investments.
Exceptional communication and analytical skills, with the ability to manage complex legal matters, make them easy to understand and communicate succinctly to the executive and Board.
Alignment with Seqwater's leadership principles: you build trust, collaborate effectively, lead with commitment, and drive results while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
