Integrity, respect, care, and courage are at the heart of everything we do, driving our commitment to sustainable water services and community well-being.Your OpportunityReporting to the General Manager Legal and Governance, the Manager Legal Counsel plays a critical role in leading Seqwater's legal function.
This position is responsible for providing strategic and operational legal advice, ensuring compliance with governance and regulatory requirements, and managing legal risk across the organisation.
As a trusted advisor, you will collaborate with senior leaders to address complex legal challenges and develop frameworks that align with Seqwater's mission.Key Responsibilities:Provide strategic legal advice to the Board, executive, and senior leadership teams.Oversee Seqwater's governance frameworks, compliance strategies, and legal risk management.Manage relationships with external legal providers, regulatory bodies, and key stakeholders.Lead and inspire a high-performing legal team, fostering collaboration and innovation.Deliver practical solutions to complex legal matters, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.About You:You are a collaborative and innovative legal professional with:Tertiary qualifications in Law and a current practising certificate in Australia.Extensive in-house legal experience, including providing advice at senior leadership levels.Expertise in governance frameworks, regulatory compliance, and risk management.Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive exceptional results.Strong communication skills to simplify complex legal matters for diverse audiences.Alignment with Seqwater's leadership principles: you build trust, inspire collaboration, lead with commitment, and drive results while fostering a culture of integrity and innovation.Why Join Seqwater?Seqwater offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by contributing to vital water services that support community well-being and economic growth.
