We transform communities to make them easier to move around, more connected and better to live in.Are you up for the challenge?We are currently looking for an experienced Overhead Wiring Project Engineer to join the rail team working on our Southwest Metro Corridor project, based in Canterbury.We are interested in applicants who have experience in Overhead Wiring Systems, traction and civil. The successful candidate will provide onsite engineering services and technical support to ensure short term planning and programming of works is completed in conjunction with the site supervision staff as well as liaising with key internal stakeholders.Responsibilities of the role include:Conduct and administer overall job planning and programming including short range and intermediate activities for construction projects for approval by the Project ManagerDemonstrate financial management skills including behaviour in reducing costs and meeting budgetsMonitor construction progress for adherence to programme and report to the Construction Manager or Project ManagerArrange and oversee the letting of tendersDemonstrate commercial acumen when making decisionsAssist with the preparation of site construction budgets and reportsInterpret designs for implementation on projectUndertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishesManage and support the development of Site Engineers reporting into youDemonstrate people management skills by managing work and performance of teams and subcontractors to achieve project outcomesTo be successful in this key role, you must have:Bachelor's Degree in EngineeringMinimum 4-5 years post-graduate construction experience in overhead wiring, and/or traction and civilDemonstrated experience with project wide level of planning, development, and review of complex projectsSkill in use of document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance and proceduresHold a current driver's licenseFlexibility to work weekend shifts and night shifts when required.
