About the Role:
As Senior Treasury Officer, you will be part of the Group Treasury & Risk team responsible for managing Qube's financial wellbeing and insurance needs while helping to improve processes and reporting.
This role offers the opportunity to assist in establishing the Treasury & Risk function in a rapidly expanding organisation whilst also building your reputation as a solid team player.
You'll also need to be the type of individual who thrives in a non-hierarchal environment and rolls up their sleeves to get the job done.
Key Accountabilities:
Monitor, consolidate & report on daily cash positions, and support coordination of cash movements between accounts and subsidiaries.
Assist in executing bank guarantees, standby letters of credit, export letters of credit, performance bonds and similar instruments.
Develop & enhance commodity risk reporting and monitor commodity dealing lines, including preparing daily grains & currency hedging reports and ensuring compliance with Commodity Price Risk Management policies.
Assist Treasury & Risk Analyst with monitoring Inventory Finance solutions as it applies to commodity trading.
Support the workflow of all treasury-related transactions, including coordinating all confirmations, authorisations & payments/settlements, and maintain trade registers and records, particularly as it relates to Qube's grain, currency and interest rate hedging programs.
Maintain positive banking relationships with counterparty banks and act as Treasury & Risk liaison internally with Qube's business units to handle any banking, funding or insurance inquiries and related matters.
Assist with maintenance of all transaction banking activities and associated KYC processes, including opening & closing accounts, updating authorised signatory listings and system access maintenance.
Work with Qube's business units to prepare weekly cash forecasts and other cash and borrowing projection models; coordinate with teams to identify and mitigate forecasting variances.
Identify funding requirements and coordinate administration and confirmation of appropriate funding (including preparation of notices and payments).
Prepare timely and accurate reporting related to Treasury activities, including maintenance of debt & derivative schedules, banking & signatories registers, mark-to-market reporting, and maintenance of monthly interest & fee schedules.
Assist with the development and maintenance of an insurance policy & claims register, and support management to ensure reporting and processing of all policy audits, payments, claims and renewals.
Provide information in connection with the external and internal audits as it relates to Treasury.
Recommend and implement solutions to strengthen operational controls and incorporate best practices.
Assist with ad hoc Treasury or Risk requirements as needed.
Qualifications:
Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Business, or Economics (CA/CPA accreditation preferred but not essential)
3-5 years' experience in Finance or Risk functions in a large corporate
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Knowledge of the banking or insurance industry and technical knowledge desirable
